It’s rare to find a cable, for loudspeakers or interconnects, that doesn’t have some definable sonic characteristic. Indeed some are so blatantly assertive that their very presence can flavour a sound system’s performance, and not always to advantage. Cables like that usually get great reviews of course!
Our little business specialises in lower power valve amplifiers and high sensitivity loudspeakers, combinations that readily reveal the influence of connections. For us, the principal objective for interconnects and loudspeaker cables has to be in line with the very sensitivity of these systems and, to ensure that the transition of musical information is neither artificially enhanced, nor tonally embellished. It’s also a bonus if the price is right!
The new, British made Tellurium Q Black loudspeaker cable is subject to a patent application which will confirm its uniqueness amongst an otherwise bewildering choice. The cable is fairly orthodox in appearance, no glittering sheaths or elaborate aesthetics, by contrast it’s fairly robust in construction, flat(ish) and flexible enough to follow most skirting board contours or for laying under carpet. It’s also relatively affordable amongst some of todays stratospherically priced alternatives.

Our own tests can be deceptively demanding for cables, long runs with as little as three and a half watts into loudspeakers of 93dB sensitivity or even higher. Doesn’t sound much, but you’d be surprised by how many cables insist on telling us just who they are in these situations - so we don’t want to know!
The Tellurium Black is as anonymous as we could want, signals appear to breeze through it with no suspicion of resistance or evidence of artificial enhancement, music just happens. Our loudspeakers come alive, completely detached from a soundscape far greater than where their physical presence would otherwise dominate.
Without overstating the case, there are other cables that reward with similar musical riches and we stock one in particular. That said, it costs seven times the price of the Tellurium Q Black! What’s important to us is a cable that doesn’t compromise the values inherent in valve based, high sensitivity systems. In such circumstances the Tellurium Q Black comes very highly recommended and not only by us, here's an observation by one of our most discerning customers
"I'd have been less surprised if a ghost had passed through the room when I set up these Telleriums - my system just opened out with neutrality but bags of detail and instrumental placement. I can only describe it as if sonically it throws a bucket of water in the air, only to catch it all back, every drop. It has revolutionised a great specialist 300B driven vinyl system allowing my pretty rare Feastrex 5" Alnico "Monster Magnet" speakers to flourish in a way I'd never imagined, by becoming many, many grades better. They were great but are now truly beautiful, moving and mesmerising. Even CD plays well. The price and quality equation are massively out of kilter ... Tellerium Q Black cable is staggering and simply astonishly good value."
